Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide hands-on treatment and rehabilitation services to patients. The PTA helps patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall physical function while supporting individualized therapy plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility activities.
• Perform treatments according to established care plans.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, balance, and functional activities.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and safe mobility techniques.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow facility safety, infection control, and patient-care procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare staff.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• Current California PTA license or eligibility as required.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
