Job Title: Level 2 Hollow Fiber Operator – Non-Cleanroom Production

Job Description

This role involves operating manual production machines and performing detailed, multi-step assembly processes for hollow fiber filters in a temperature-controlled, non-cleanroom environment. You will work at process-oriented workstations, loading parts, setting and running programs, performing quality checks with microscopes and measuring tools, and using small hand tools and tweezers for precise component assembly. You will collaborate in small teams, stand for 12-hour shifts, and follow process sheets and documentation to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to production standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate various manual machines in the hollow fiber line, including loading parts, setting programs, and running equipment according to established procedures.
• Perform detailed, multi-step assembly processes for filter components at designated workstations.
• Use microscopes and measuring tools to inspect parts and verify that they meet quality and dimensional specifications.
• Run and monitor the wrapper machine in the wrapping area, including setup, adjustments, and ongoing quality checks.
• Utilize small hand tools and tweezers to perform basic assembly of components with a high degree of accuracy and dexterity.
• Read and follow process sheets to complete tasks in the correct sequence and to the required standards.
• Perform required documentation and record-keeping to track production activities and quality checks.
• Work in teams of 1–2 at stations, coordinating tasks and communicating effectively to maintain smooth workflow.
• Stand for 12-hour shifts while consistently performing repetitive, process-oriented tasks at the workstation.
• Handle and move parts and materials safely, including lifting up to 20 pounds as part of routine duties.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety and operational guidelines.
• Adapt to working around multiple machines and small components, demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills to interpret process sheets and complete documentation accurately.
• Experience reading from process sheets and performing related documentation tasks.
• Ability to consistently lift up to 20 pounds as part of daily responsibilities.
• Ability to stand for 12-hour shifts while performing repetitive tasks.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working around machines and mechanical processes.
• Good hand dexterity for handling small components and using tools such as tweezers and small hand tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly in reading and writing within a production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with assembly work, particularly involving small parts or medical assembly, is beneficial.
• Previous exposure to machine operation in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Expeirence in roles such as general labor, stocking, packaging, or cashier that demonstrate reliability and attention to detail.
• Comfort using small tools, including hand tools and tweezers, for precise assembly tasks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in process-oriented, hands-on workstations.
• Ability to work effectively in small teams and follow structured, multi-step procedures.

Work Environment

The position is based in a non-cleanroom, process-oriented production area that is temperature-controlled and regulated for comfort and consistency. Workstations involve manual, hands-on tasks requiring mechanical aptitude, testing, and other defined processes. Employees work in small teams at stations surrounded by multiple machines and smaller components, performing detailed and repetitive tasks. The role requires standing for 12-hour shifts and regularly lifting up to 20 pounds. The standard schedule is a 2nd shift, running from 3:25 p.m. to 1:55 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with Friday reserved for overtime as needed. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to process sheets and quality standards, while providing the tools and equipment necessary to perform precise assembly and inspection work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Bear Lake, MN.

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $21.75/hr.
