Job Title: Med Surg Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS; ACLS preferred but not required Must-Have: Basic Med/Surg experience Experience with post-operative patients, especially ortho Description: The position is for a Med Surg Registered Nurse on a medical-surgical unit. The unit has 27 beds on each floor with a patient ratio of 5:1. Unit secretaries are available during dayshift, and techs are present on all shifts. The type of equipment includes Computer on Wheels, Pyxis, and Welch Allen vital sign machines. Documentation is completed using Meditech Expanse. The schedule requires working three days a week with every other weekend included. There may be a need to float between the two medical-surgical floors. The unit performs procedures such as blood transfusions, IV maintenance, and central line maintenance. Candidates should be familiar with hospital-specific guidelines and policies.
