RN House Supervisor - PRN Days

About the Role Join Christian Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, as a PRN RN House Supervisor—a leadership opportunity to provide hospital-wide clinical and administrative oversight during off shifts. Shift Details: (2) 12‑hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), some holidays, and 1 weekend day every 6 weeks. Must‑Have Skills Commitment to BJC values: Compassion, Respect, Excellence, Safety, Teamwork Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills Preferred Skills 2+ years of acute care experience Prior charge or leadership experience ACLS certification BSN preferred Role Purpose The House Supervisor is delegated the authority and responsibility for administrative supervision of patient care and other hospital departments, serving as a representative of Administration in the absence of the Administrator during off shifts. Acts as a liaison with departments and/or consults with Administrator on call to handle unusual circumstances, appropriate resources, and investigate and resolve clinical problems/complaints. Responsibilities Manages individuals, including hiring, training, assigning work, managing & evaluating performance, conducting professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of the group meet or support overall operational goals of the department. Supervises delivery of safe and appropriate patient care across the organization. Effectively responds to special circumstances and acts as the on‑site leader. Assists with patient care operations and integration of services between departments. Assists in the clinical development of nursing staff, including observing and coaching staff in performance of clinical duties and interpersonal interactions and monitoring staff and unit compliance in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Functions as a liaison between Administration and all departments and customers. Ensures that the productivity and actions of the group meet or support overall operational goals of the department. May participate in development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and has direct responsibility for adhering to those goals, including responding to changes in the business that may affect ability to achieve budget goals.
