Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

TRAVEL - RN ICU is responsible for delivering high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting. The role requires safe, evidence-based clinical judgment, continuous monitoring, and effective collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and reassess patients' condition using advanced critical care standards.
• Administer medications and therapies while maintaining correct dosage, timing, and patient safety.
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic support equipment, and other ICU monitoring systems as appropriate.
• Implement nursing interventions for complex needs including sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, and postoperative patients.
• Document clinical findings, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Coordinate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and allied staff to support continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license and be eligible to practice in the assigned state.
• Maintain BLS certification; obtain ACLS or critical care certification as required for ICU practice.
• Demonstrate at least 1 year of ICU experience delivering direct bedside critical care.
• Exhibit strong skills in patient assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization in rapidly changing situations.
• Prove competency with ICU documentation, medication administration, and infection prevention practices.
