The Student Onboarding Coordinator evaluates potential clinical placement areas that promote the best clinical experiences for students for their clinical rotations. The coordinator will provide support to students in having a smooth and successful onboarding experience to our division. This position will make sure that students are onboarded and compliant before beginning their clinical rotations. The coordinator will collaborate with the academic partners to plan and coordinate student placement for all students in the organization. This position will also provide administrative support to Workforce Development to assist with tasks throughout the department and all other duties as assigned.

Job Description/Summary: The Student Onboarding Coordinator evaluates potential clinical placement areas that promote the best clinical experiences for students for their clinical rotations. The coordinator will provide support to students in having a smooth and successful onboarding experience to our division. This position will make sure that students are onboarded and compliant before beginning their clinical rotations. The coordinator will collaborate with the academic partners to plan and coordinate student placement for all students in the organization. This position will also provide administrative support to Workforce Development to assist with tasks throughout the department and all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities outlined below for all 4 sites (DT, NE, KMC, Fairfield):

• Coordinate clinical rotation schedules for nursing cohorts 
• Arrange capstone placements for nursing students in preceptorships
• Schedule clinical placements for allied health students
• Manage onboarding and clearance for all students (excluding Nurse Practitioner and Medical Doctor programs). This includes nursing, CNA, PT/OT, speech therapy, respiratory therapy, EMT, CRNA, PA, phlebotomy, MLT, and others
• Review and verify student documentation, including background checks, drug screenings, immunization records, BLS certification, and other required forms
• Enter students into the Extended Enterprise system and enroll them in the appropriate EPIC training modules
• Monitor and track flu vaccine compliance during flu season
• Represent the organization on advisory boards for all affiliated academic institutions
• Foster partnerships with external schools by conducting rounds and check-ins with students and school staff during and after clinical rotations
• Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree (from an accredited College or University preferred) or equivalent Work Experience: 2 years for support or 0-2 years for professional

Excellent people skills and ability to build relationships are a must.
