About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: GA or Compact RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Charting system experience required - Patient ratio experience: 6 patients per nurse on all shifts - Travel experience preferred Description: This unit requires weekend coverage every other weekend. There is no call requirement. Staffing may entail floating within the facility based on scope of practice. Candidates must be compliant to start on time; if not compliant, onboarding may be delayed. Travelers are expected to work one major holiday if it falls within their assignment. If two major holidays fall during their assignment, they are expected to work both. If three major holidays fall during their assignment, they are expected to work two. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Compliance documents are required before starting. Completion of core items and labs is mandatory. Modules are completed during orientation and vary by specialty. The patient age groups served are adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census for this unit is approximately 22 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams. Nursing skills needed include central line management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and non-invasive airway management. Travelers must provide proof of all relevant experience and certifications. No block schedule requests are accepted. Availability for floating to other roles as needed is required. Candidates must ensure all submitted documents are accurate and complete.
