This position offers possible shift differentials and the opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining a pristine and welcoming space for patients, visitors, and staff. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to health and safety standards, and a strong work ethic.
Your Impact Patient Rooms and Public Areas:
- Clean patient rooms, offices, and public areas.
- Prepare rooms for new patients.
- Respond to emergencies regarding cleanliness.
- Inspect rooms according to standards.
- Notify superiors of any damage or disturbances.
- Perform general cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.).
- Empty trash cans and replace liners.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables properly.
- Maintain hospital property through regular cleaning.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues.
- Transport medical waste and other infectious materials.
- Follow hospital policies for bio-hazardous materials.
- Handle and dispose of waste according to regulations.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Participate in on-call schedules and cross-training.
- Assist in event planning.

- Ability to read and interpret work assignments.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
- High school diploma is a plus.
- Previous experience as a cleaner or housekeeper preferred but not required.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and tools.
- Understanding of healthcare sanitation procedures.
- Physical stamina and mobility.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to be on feet most of the shift.
- Ability to lift, pull, push, stoop, and reach.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Adequate vision.
- No significant allergy to dust or cleaning supplies.
- Hospital setting with varying shift schedules.
- Work in the presence of other employees, patients, and visitors.
- Exposure to hazardous waste and body fluids.
- Work with floor strippers and harsh chemical fumes.
- Work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Withstand equipment heat and noise.
- Reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
- Based on experience and qualifications.
