Portage Lakes Nursing & Rehab is seeking a compassionate, customer-focused Personal Care Aide (PCA) to join our nursing team in Akron, OH. In this role, you will provide hands-on daily care, mobility assistance, and personalized support to our residents to ensure a safe, comfortable, and dignified living environment.

• Assist residents with essential Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, and meal setup.

• Welcome new residents and assist them with acclimating to the facility.

• Support resident mobility, positioning, and safe transfers between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with residents and respond promptly to questions, concerns, and call lights.

• Monitor resident well-being and report physical, emotional, or behavioral changes to the nursing team.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe resident living areas.

• Respond to urgent situations and immediately report critical incidents or safety concerns to nursing leadership.

• Collaborate closely with nursing, administrative, and therapy staff to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required).

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare, direct care, senior living, assisted living, or long-term care (Preferred).

• Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and strong time-management capabilities.

• Certifications: Active PCA or STNA certification, or CPR/BLS certification (Preferred).

• Requirements: Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, standing, transferring residents) and flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed.
