Phlebotomist

As a Phlebotomist, you'll be the first step in getting patients answers. You'll collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, perform screening tests, and make sure every sample is handled accurately and with care. This is a hands-on, patient-facing role where precision and a steady, reassuring presence matter as much as technical skill.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens for laboratory testing, including from patients who are difficult draws
• Perform screening tests and accurately report results
• Process and prepare specimens for in-house testing and reference laboratory dispatch
• Follow up on unclear or unusual test orders by coordinating with the ordering physician, pathologist, nursing station, or reference laboratory
• Refer unresolved orders back to the originator for clarification before collecting or processing, and keep your supervisor informed of any open items
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all safety, infection control, and compliance standards

Qualifications

• 2+ years of phlebotomy experience
• Confidence performing draws independently, including on difficult sticks
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first approach
• Careful attention to detail and comfort working with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of medical terminology and current CPR certification (preferred)

Education and Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification required

Travel Requirement

This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities using a personal vehicle. A valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required. Periodic motor vehicle record (MVR) checks may be conducted as a condition of, and/or for, continued employment.
