The Opportunity

Skogman Remodeling & Repair is looking for a Part-Time General Laborer to support our crews with trailer transport and general labor on residential remodeling projects in the Cedar Rapids area. This is flexible, supplemental work — a good fit if you're looking for extra income and don't need a set number of hours every week.

Schedule: This is on-call work — hours vary week to week based on project needs. Some weeks may have little to no work; other weeks may require time each day. You'll know your schedule for the upcoming week by Friday, so you can plan around it. Recent averages have run about 12-16 hours/week.

No benefits are offered with this position, but you'll be provided a company vehicle to drive while on the clock and Skogman Remodeling & Repair attire — no wear and tear on your own vehicle or clothes.

What You'll Do

Hook up, pull, and safely back trailers to and from job sites
Provide general labor support on remodeling and repair projects
Clock in/out and communicate availability using time clock apps on your smartphone
Assist crews with material transport, site prep, and cleanup as needed

What You'll Need (Required)

Valid driver's license and current auto insurance
Ability to hook up, pull, and back a trailer
Comfortable performing general labor and construction-related tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors
A smartphone for time clock and communication apps
Reliable transportation to and from the job site or shop

Preferred (Not Required)

Any construction or remodeling experience
Familiarity with hand tools
