Senior Product Manager – Data Center Switching This hybrid role is based in San Jose, requiring approximately two days per week in the HPE office. The mandate is to own the telemetry and analytics direction for the data‑center portfolio, driving from concept through launch. Responsibilities Define and manage feature requirements and mandate progress with engineering and PLM leaders to deliver impact. Identify and partner with internal and external technology providers to accelerate adoption of telemetry and analytics capabilities. Serve as the relationship manager for technology partners. Assist with go‑to‑market initiatives for full‑stack solutions (Networking, Compute, Storage, etc.). Manage existing switching platforms and contribute to the definition of future platforms. Act as the recognized authority on related technologies, theories, and techniques. Lead and manage cross‑division functional teams or projects that impact long‑term organizational goals. Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and criteria for achieving objectives. Assist in developing strategy and direction, including high‑level and detailed presentations. Education & Experience 5–10 years of Data Center / Product Management experience. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent). Working knowledge of data‑center virtualization technologies, protocols, containers, network applications, and cloud/multi‑cloud environments. Deep understanding of telemetry and analytics, and knowledge of the aspects that are critical for operating large data centers – planning, troubleshooting, etc. 6+ years of experience with data‑center technologies from VMware, HPE, Cisco, Arista, Juniper, etc. MBA or advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred. Knowledge & Skills Ability to distill complex ideas into concise value propositions. Capability to synthesize market data and customer requirements into Product Requirement Documents (PRD) and Business Cases. Proficiency in prioritizing features for specific customer segments. Versatility across software, hardware, and go‑to‑market responsibilities. Guidance of portfolio strategy from planning, development, launch, management, to exit. Experience identifying, collaborating with, and onboarding external vendors whose products complement our solutions. Strong influence and mentorship skills to drive complex, ambiguous projects across functions. Capability to build cost‑efficient solutions and develop financial performance metrics.
