Certified Nurse Midwife – Rhinebeck, NY We are looking for an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join our growing OB/GYN group at Northern Dutchess Hospital of Nuvance Health, which is now part of Northwell Health. The practice currently has 5 midwives and aims to expand to 7 to provide 24/7 coverage with physicians. This role offers the opportunity to help grow the practice and shape care delivery. Role Overview A full‑time, full‑scope midwife will work two clinical days and one 24‑hour call shift per week (80 hours per two‑week pay period). Weekends and holidays are shared among the group. The midwife will provide midwifery care to a diverse patient population drawn from multiple counties in the Hudson Valley, with admissions exclusively to the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Key Responsibilities and Qualifications Dedicated to the midwifery model of patient empowerment and full‑scope care based on compassion and shared decision‑making. Team player with excellent communication skills, able to build rapport and trust with patients and families. Committed to evidence‑based care, cultural sensitivity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and lifelong learning. Reliable, adaptable, and possessing high clinical competence and empathy. Experience with a diverse patient population and willingness to provide patient education. Practice Details The practice has offices in Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, and Highland. It works with 7 board‑certified physicians. The Labor & Delivery Unit sees approximately 2,800 babies per year and has a level III NICU staffed by neonatologists, plus a perinatology program and breast surgery and GYN‑oncology fellowship surgeons on the Vassar Hospital campus.
