Auction Sale Day Driver (Manheim)

Company & Role Cox Automotive – USA – Vehicle Operations – Driver I (Non‑DOT, Management Level Individual Contributor). Flexible work option, no remote work; must be on site. Travel: 0%. Shift: Day. Hours: $16.00 hourly; may receive commission or incentive. Job Summary This position is one day per week, typically Tuesdays (8:30am–12:30pm), with opportunity to work other days if requested. Key Responsibilities Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale days in a safe manner. Move vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, observing auction driving rules and rules of the road. Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed; move vehicles as necessary and recover “lost” vehicles. Assist vehicles with starting or operational issues; inflate tires and jump‑start using battery box and air tank if needed. Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative or out of gas; notify Service or Gas Truck Driver as appropriate. Assist dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, and coworkers as needed. Follow all safety and health procedures, model safety behaviors, and participate in Safety Excellence activities. Perform other duties assigned by management; overtime may be required. Qualifications Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Ability to sit for prolonged periods, stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear; must enter/exit vehicles constantly. Physical abilities: lift 1–15 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb. Vision: close, distance, color, depth perception, focus adjustment. High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). Previous auction experience (preferred). Ability to drive vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions. Work Environment Frequent outdoor exposure, moderate noise level. Pre‑employment Drug Test Must clear a pre‑employment drug test. Marijuana is not tested for in this position; possession, use or influence of illegal drugs during work hours, on company property or in company vehicles is prohibited.
