Senior Database Developer (SQL) - Project Lead

Role Description

The Senior Database Developer (SQL) - Project Lead will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes, data pipelines, and automation solutions.

• Create, optimize, and troubleshoot complex T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and advanced queries.
• Develop and support SSIS packages and integration solutions.
• Participate in EDSS migration and data modernization initiatives.
• Design and maintain Data Warehouse solutions.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and reporting processes.
• Parse and process healthcare data formats including XML, HL7, CSV, and SOAP messages.
• Support eCR onboarding, data imports, process automation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Monitor production data processing and ensure successful data flow.
• Perform data validation, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Rewrite and convert legacy SAS processes into SSIS and Power BI solutions.
• Support system upgrades, database migrations, and environment configurations.
• Create technical documentation, process flows, and data mapping documents.
• Gather business requirements and perform gap analysis with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with DPH, CDC, HIPAA, CJIS, PHI, and PII security requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices to team members.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with MS T-SQL (Stored Procedures, Advanced Queries, Query Optimization).
• 3+ years of experience developing ETL processes and data pipelines.
• 1+ year of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• 3+ years of experience with report development and reporting solutions.
• 3+ years of experience with Data Warehousing and Relational Databases.
• 1+ year of experience working with HL7 v2.3.1 - v2.5.1 and ORU Messages.
• 3+ years of experience processing and parsing XML data.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016+.
• 1+ year of experience with CDC, HIPAA, CJIS, PHI, and PII security/data classification requirements.

• Public Health / Disease Surveillance Systems experience.
• Statistical Analysis System (SAS).
• LOINC and SNOMED.
• FASTQ Files and Demultiplexing.
