Nurse Assistant - Float Pool - PRN - Day Shift

Nursing Position At Henry Ford Health St. John Hospital

Department: Float Pool

Schedule: PRN, 12hr Day Shift, 7:00am-7:30pm

Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting patients, visitors, and new admissions.
• Answering general inquiries and scheduling patients for appointments. Answering, screening, and routing telephone calls.
• Performing general clerical duties including filing, email correspondence, and mail distribution.
• Creating various reports and documents as assigned.
• Helping patients/residents with basic technology and social media.
• Communicating with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members about patient care.
• Performing unit safety checks. Assisting with meeting patient needs and escalating as appropriate.
• May assist with meals, pass and collect trays, pass out activities, and transport patients/residents through facility.
• May assist with stocking supplies and keeping unit and patient rooms clean and orderly.
• May maintain staff schedules and timekeeping as assigned.

Education/Experience Required:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• Preferred use of administrative skills in a hospital setting
