Pay: $18–$19/hour | Temp-to-Hire with full benefits at hire
Schedule: Full-Time

Schedule & Training

• Train on 1st shift for the first 30–60 days
• Then move to 2nd shift or 3rd shift 8-hour shifts
• Some positions/shifts offer flexible start times as early as 12:00 PM for 2nd shift
• Monday–Friday, full-time

What You'll Do

As a Plate Mounting Technician, you'll mount, proof, inspect, and prepare printing plates to customer specifications. Responsibilities include (but aren't limited to)

Plate Mounting & Proofing

• Mount and proof printing plates accurately using customer specs and work orders
• Use an ink brayer to ink plates and pull a smooth, covered proof
• Make proofs for company records, the customer, and any others required on the work order
• Monitor proof and plate quality, adjusting exposure and thickness as needed

Plate Making & Processing

• Set up, pour, and process photopolymer plates to required specifications
• Perform mechanical or hand pour of plates as necessary
• Pour or set up photopolymer plates accurately at a variety of heights
• Properly expose screens and fine copy using the extra back exposure technique
• Adjust exposure time for plates as needed
• Prepare, trim, strip, splice, and organize negatives for production
• Properly mark up required negatives and plates
• Wear gloves and a face shield when handling developer/fixer powder

Auto Bend & Die Layout

• Read dimensioned drawings/blueprints to autobend, saw, or lay out cutting dies

Finishing & Quality

• Cut mounting materials and install edge strips, grommets, or slots as required
• Clean plates thoroughly using the plate bath and package properly for shipping
• Prepare, clean, package, and ship completed plates
• Verify barcodes and perform quality checks
• Maintain and periodically calibrate Opti-Chek equipment
• Record production time and materials in company software (Cyframe)
• Maintain accurate production logs and job records

Other Functions

• Perform light equipment maintenance as needed
• Perform all duties safely and in accordance with company quality guidelines
• General housekeeping to keep the work area clean
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or equivalent is a must
• Minimum 1 year of continuous employment with the same employer in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills using a calculator
• Must be able to read a tape measure to the 1/32"
• Must be detail-oriented
• Ability to read and follow work instructions
• Manufacturing, printing, or production experience is a plus
