Bus OperatorClassification: D1 Evaluated by: Director of Transportation Salary Range: Service Salary Schedule. Salary based on experience and education level per Putnam County Board of Education salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package to include: PEIA insurance, retirement, life insurance, and free vision and dental insurance.Job Description: The School Bus Operator is responsible for operating school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.Qualifications:Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake EndorsementsPasses the required physical examinationHas three years of experience as a licensed driverPasses the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record CheckPasses the Drug/Alcohol ScreeningCompletes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel trainingHolds First Aid/CPR CertificationHolds a West Virginia School Bus Operator's CertificateLength of Employment: 200 DaysCurrent Bus Number: Daily Schedule: Responsibilities: The School Bus Operator shall have the responsibilities and duties as outlined in The Putnam County Schools Job Description Handbook. Location and length of route(s) may vary determined by Coordinator of Transportation dependent upon the number and/or location of students requiring transportation services.
