Materials Manager

Job Summary Materials Manager – Dallas, Texas. Reporting to the Senior Director of Supply Chain, the Materials Manager directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in material planning, distribution, inventory control, purchasing and supply chain management. The role focuses on ensuring timely delivery of materials, minimizing excess inventory, and maintaining high customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Coordinate planning activities across the site. Manage, control, and direct the staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line. Manage, control, and direct staff to achieve materials profit and loss goals, including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory. Ensure the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, and assure that suspicious material is identified and handled, stored, and delivered properly. Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and directing staff activities required to meet this expectation. Coordinate with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers. Conduct accurate inventory cycle counts and controls. Provide proper shipping and documentation of finished goods. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems. Review, plan, and approve purchase orders and change notices. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. Manage disposition of excess and obsolete materials. Travel as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training. Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
