Cake Decorator

Description Primary Purpose and Mission Statement Greeting customers with a friendly smile. Providing quick, accurate, and courteous service. Supplying a variety of products that meet high quantity, quality, and freshness standards. Thanking customers for making us their hometown store. Essential Duties Prepare product for sale (icing, decorating, pricing, packaging, and labeling). Maintain product level, quality, and freshness. When requested perform bakery clerk functions. Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area. Properly clean work area, couplers, and decorating bags. Maintain the organization of the freezer, including proper rotation of product according to variety. Communicate customer requests to management Communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor. Keeps supply are neat, clean, and tidy at all times. Properly rotates icings (including how to read dates of icings) and scrapes down buckets. Use cake manual as reference material. Write on cakes. Properly mix colors according to color chart. Masters the use of the airbrush. Use cake production sheet. Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the cake section of the bakery. Other Duties Perform all other duties as assigned by management. Performs front end duties to insure "no noticeable wait" standard is maintained. Announce specials and sale info on the PA system. Assist in product receiving and storage. Requirements Qualifications Friendly, outgoing personality. Ability to work well with others Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to read and understand information and direction. Effective communication, customer service and selling skills. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to push/pull a loaded Grocery cart throughout any assigned shift unassisted. Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder. Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion. Ability to reach above shoulders and horizontally to stock and retrieve inventory. Work Environment Ability to work under a variety of conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods of time.
