Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. Monitor maternal and fetal health, assist with delivery procedures, and support new mothers through recovery and early parenting.

Responsibilities:

• Assess maternal and fetal status continuously throughout labor and delivery.
• Support and assist physicians during childbirth, including preparing delivery equipment and assisting with procedures.
• Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and any complications.
• Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Ensure a safe environment by adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Manage emergency situations effectively, including postpartum hemorrhage or fetal distress.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with appropriate state or national registration.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing School; BSN preferred.
• Proven experience in Labor and Delivery or OB nursing.
• Knowledge of fetal monitoring, obstetric emergencies, and postpartum care.
• Demonstrate strong assessment and clinical skills pertinent to obstetrics.
• BLS and ACLS certification required or within specified period.
