Job Title: Cath Lab RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 07:00 - 17:30 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years' Experience Required License: NC or Compact License Preferred Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Structural Heart Scrub Experience Description: This position requires candidates to have structural heart scrub experience. RTO after booking is not allowed, and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could result in a cancellation and DNR. The candidate must be able to scrub for all procedures, not just diagnostic. The unit will accept first-time travelers. Locals are accepted with a rate difference. The required skills include scrub, monitor, PA lines, telemetry, and structural heart & TAVR experience. Cath Lab procedure experience required includes balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, and Rotablader. Preferred skills include circulating, IV start, and conscious sedation. Specific catheterization experience in procedures such as Watchman Procedures, septal closure, ablations, and coil embolization is preferred. Candidates should possess EKG settings and experience in rhythm interpretation. The target ratio is 3 rooms with a staffing requirement of 40 hours a week. Call requirement includes one day a week and one weekend every four weeks, with the potential for fluctuation due to staff illness. Floating within the hospital is rare but may occur to help in specific areas. Some complex procedures performed in the lab include complex PCIs. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting this specialty. All candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as needed. Pre-start modules are non-billable, and time spent on these should be accounted for separately. Completion of pre-start modules is required prior to starting the position.
