Job Overview Location: Bradenton, FL 34209 | Position Type: Full Time | Salary: $44,000.00 – $54,000.00 per year | Shift: Day | Position: Lead Behavioral Health Tech Reporting Responsible to: Site Director of Operations Supervised by: Site Director of Operations Position Purpose The Lead Behavioral Health Tech is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and providing transportation, facility, and care services for all clients, and for supervising technicians. Workplace Conditions & Safeguards Work indoors and outdoors as needed, with potential exposure to violent situations. Requires use of safety belt; no exposure to airborne or blood-borne pathogens. Possibility of high workplace violence exposure. Security clearance level: High / Full. Specific Areas of Responsibility Collaborate with Facilities on transportation issues, concerns, and problems. Ensure client admissions and discharges comply with policy. Map out transportation routes to facilitate client travel. Operate vehicles safely, complying with all applicable rules and regulations. Maintain a good driving record per DMV and demonstrate knowledge of DMV rules. Assist in maintaining the safety of the physical environment (vehicles). Inspect client rooms for cleanliness and for hazardous materials such as candles, incense, alcohol, drugs, and weapons. Monitor unauthorized entry of visitors on property. Develop daily and weekly structures for clients. Ensure completed urinalysis/drug testing is performed correctly and submitted to front desk staff. Monitor clients regularly and maintain an accurate count of clients. Ensure medication bags are ready each day and transport them to and from the center. Ensure timely pickup of medications from the pharmacy. Prepare admissions paperwork, secure monies, credit cards, checks, electronic equipment, and medications, and transition these items to the Treatment Center. Communicate with staff regarding concerns or emergencies, including AMA situations. Monitor employees’ timesheets and hours. Maintain accurate inventory of supplies. Prepare daily shift reports, incident reports, round reports, as needed. Work independently, effectively, and efficiently. Use cellular telephones and/or two‑way radios appropriately. Approach patients, families, and staff in a respectful and caring manner. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records. Communicate and problem‑solve via chain of command. Recognize crisis situations and provide interventions based on training and experience. Participate in staff meetings as assigned. Report to work on time and complete daily tasks. Maintain acceptable overall attendance. Promote a favorable, positive work atmosphere. Provide supervision and training of BHTs, including hiring, firing, and annual reviews. Attend in‑services and educational training as necessary. Seek out learning experiences and incorporate new knowledge into practice. Remain flexible and adaptable to expected and unexpected changes in the work environment. Report personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious disease. Report incidents in accordance with policy and procedure, confirming signatures with Nurse Manager & Clinical Director. Ensure common areas remain clean and orderly. Ensure BHTs and supervisees adhere to all policies, procedures, and protocols of CRC. Perform all other tasks as assigned. Qualifications Education High School or GED required; individuals without a high‑school diploma may be considered with at least six months of experience in the treatment industry. Experience in driving, handling patients, and staff, preferably in the mental health field, is required. Must maintain a good driving record through the Department of Motor Vehicles. Must maintain a good driving record through the Department of Motor Vehicles. Licensure & Certification Motor Vehicle Driver’s License in the State of Florida. Current CPR certification (within 90 days of employment). Skills & Abilities Proficiency in communication, observation, and written skills. Knowledge of State & Federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws. Knowledge of drug‑free workplace policies. Knowledge of workplace violence. Knowledge of corporate integrity & ethics. Knowledge of addictions and the 12‑Step Recovery Program. Ability to interact with a multidisciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program related to physical health. Competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics, and team building. Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs and their impact on the individual, family, and community. Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action when necessary. Knowledge of emergency procedures for alcohol and/or drug overdose. Knowledge of first aid and CPR. Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal laws and regulations related to treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including confidentiality, patient rights, professional code of ethics, and discrimination. Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and take on responsibilities beyond those listed, as part of an addiction treatment team. Other Details Adults are the primary client population served.
