Studio Mc+G Architecture | South Florida

Studio Mc+G Architecture is seeking an experienced, licensed Senior Architect to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive high-rise project experience and a strong understanding of the design, technical coordination, and construction requirements needed to deliver complex buildings.

Working closely with the Principal, Project Manager, design team, consultants, clients, and contractors, the Senior Architect will oversee architectural design development and technical delivery from design development through construction administration. This role requires strong technical expertise, sound design judgment, and the ability to lead project teams, present design and technical solutions directly to clients, and ensure projects meet the firm’s design and technical standards.

An experienced construction document (CD) professional with strong technical drawing and documentation skills and demonstrated proficiency in Revit . This is not a project management role; the primary focus will be on hands-on production, coordination, and development of construction drawings using Revit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the architectural design development and technical documentation of high-rise projects.
\n
• Work closely with the Project Manager to execute project plans, coordinate deliverables, and maintain project schedules and objectives.
\n
• Supervise and coordinate the team’s design development, technical documentation, and architectural delivery.
\n
• Present architectural design concepts, technical solutions, and project recommendations directly to clients.
\n
• Translate design intent into coordinated, technically sound construction documents.
\n
• Oversee the production and quality control of architectural drawings, details, specifications, and other project deliverables.
\n
• Coordinate architectural work with structural, MEP, landscape, civil, and other consultants.
\n
• Review drawings and documents for design quality, technical accuracy, code compliance, and constructability.
\n
• Participate in client, consultant, contractor, and project coordination meetings.
\n
• Oversee construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving construction-related issues.
\n
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with contractors to address field conditions and maintain design intent.
\n
• Coordinate permitting efforts and work with municipalities and regulatory agencies.
\n
• Anticipate design and technical issues and develop practical, well-coordinated solutions.
\n
• Collaborate with the Principal and Project Manager to maintain project quality, schedules, budgets, and overall objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

\n
• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
\n
• Active architectural license required.
\n
• Minimum of 10 years of professional architectural experience, including significant experience with high-rise projects.
\n
• Demonstrated experience with high-rise residential and/or hospitality developments.
\n
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction detailing, building systems, and architectural documentation.
\n
• Proven ability to supervise design and technical teams and oversee architectural project delivery.
\n
• Experience developing projects from design development through construction documents and construction administration.
\n
• Ability to present design and technical solutions directly to clients and communicate effectively with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
\n
• Strong consultant coordination, quality control, and analytical problem-solving skills.
\n
• Proficiency in Revit required; AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.
\n
• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with the Principal, Project Manager, and broader project team.
\n
• South Florida high-rise project experience and familiarity with local permitting requirements and construction practices are highly valued.
\n
• Must be based in South Florida and able to work in the local office.
\n

The ideal candidate is self-starting, collaborative, and thorough, with the ability to exercise independent judgment, lead design and technical teams, coordinate multidisciplinary consultants, and present solutions directly to clients. This individual should take ownership of architectural delivery while working closely with the Principal and Project Manager to ensure projects meet the firm’s design standards, technical requirements, and overall objectives.
