Job Overview Glenmont Job Corps is hiring a Career Preparation Program (CPP) Advisor to provide instruction, training, and ongoing support to students enrolled in our program. Responsibilities Provide instruction, training and support to Job Corps students in assigned classrooms/areas. Serve as Acting CPP Supervisor in the absence of a supervisor. Follow integrity guidelines and ensure no manipulation of student data. Conduct classroom and/or online instruction and evaluate attendance, participation and performance. Ensure the Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals. Provide remedial support and guidance for students to complete the MyPACE program and CPP requirements. Evaluate students’ readiness to transition to CDP. Provide comprehensive, individualized case and career management support to ensure student progress, retention and completion of the Job Corps program. Establish supportive/mentoring relationships with students and provide personal and career counseling. Use the CIS case management system to document student performance and engagement. Coordinate pre‑arrival activities to ensure effective transition to Center life, including phone calls, transportation, folder review and needs assessments. Introduce new students to Center staff, conduct a tour, provide a CPP welcome and celebrate 30‑day milestones. Maintain orderly, clean, safe and conducive learning environments for CPP classes and areas. Produce quality work and assignments accurately and on time. Maintain personal attendance, accountability and work‑productivity standards. Plan, prioritize and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines. Apply job knowledge to complete all required duties and student‑service responsibilities. Coach, monitor and model the Career Success Standards as required by PRH. Supervise and manage the student population, taking swift and appropriate action to positively influence behavior. Show respect and courtesy to students while holding them accountable for actions and behavior. Provide high‑quality programs and services, continually pursuing improvement and enhancement. Exchange ideas and information orally and in writing in a clear, concise manner and contribute meaningfully to group efforts. Provide timely information to DOL/Company when requested. Identify problems, analyze causes, evaluate appropriate solutions before recommending or taking action. Follow up to ensure prompt and appropriate action is taken and problems are corrected. Collaborate with all departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students. Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director, Center Duty Officer or Shift Manager, and temporarily perform duties of other departments as assigned.
