Systems Engineer IIArctiq is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer II to support the implementation and ongoing delivery of managed services with a focus on data protection, backup, and disaster recovery. You are responsible for configuring and deploying customer solutions across platforms including Commvault, Rubrik, Metallic, and Zerto. You will participate in client-facing meetings, perform hands-on hardware and software configuration, and serve as a reliable escalation point for junior engineers. This is a hybrid position that includes participation in an on-call rotation to support after-hours incident response.Key Responsibilities:Configure, deploy, and maintain data protection platforms including Commvault, Metallic, Zerto, and related technologiesSupport project-based implementations, following technical design documentation and collaborating with internal engineering and delivery teamsPerform hardware installations, including racking, cabling, and setup of media agent servers and storage componentsParticipate in client meetings to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment on technical deliveryServe as a primary technical contact for assigned managed service accountsWork cross-functionally with Network, Systems, and Project teams to ensure seamless service deliveryManage and resolve escalated tickets, performing root cause analysis and delivering documented findings to clientsMentor Systems Engineer I staff and contribute to the knowledge base and Confluence documentationMaintain accurate asset, configuration, and change records in Jira and other ITSM toolingParticipate in on-call rotation, responding to after-hours alerts and incidents per defined escalation proceduresMaintain awareness of best practices in backup, recovery, and data managementQualifications:3–5 years of experience in systems or backup administration, preferably in a managed services or service provider environmentFoundational knowledge of Commvault, Metallic, Zerto, Rubrik, Cohesity, or similar data protection platformsFamiliarity with Windows Server, VMware, network fundamentals, and storage systemsProven track record managing client-facing escalations and technical communicationsStrong troubleshooting and documentation skillsExcellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiencesComfortable with hybrid work expectations and on-call availability on a rotating basisAbility to lift and install physical hardware (up to 50 lbs)Preferred certifications: Commvault Certified Professional, Zerto Certified Associate (ZCA), Fortinet NSE, or Microsoft AzureWork Arrangement:Hybrid schedule — combination of remote and on-site work as coordinated with your teamParticipation in a rotating on-call schedule to cover after-hours incidents and critical alertsOn-call responsibilities include acknowledgment, triage, and escalation per Arctiq's incident response proceduresWhat Success Looks Like:Client solutions are deployed accurately, on time, and documented to a high standardClients receive timely, well-communicated resolutions with minimal escalation to senior staffSLA targets are consistently met or exceeded on assigned accountsTicket and project documentation is accurate, thorough, and useful to the wider teamClient relationships are stable and trust is maintained through proactive communicationOn-call incidents are handled promptly and resolved or escalated within defined response windowsTechnologies You Will Work With:Commvault / Rubrik · Metallic · Zerto · Cohesity · Fortinet / FortiGate · Microsoft Azure · VMware vSphere · Windows Server · Microsoft 365 / Entra ID · Jira / Confluence · Networking fundamentalsLocation:Atlanta, Georgia, USA (Hybrid)Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where they reside.
