Come do great work on behalf of better health!**We're currently offering a $3,500 sign on bonus for this role!****POSITION SUMMARY**This position performs genetic/genomic testing in accordance with CAP (College of America Pathologists) standards in an accurate and timely manner. Testing may be of high complexity and may include:* Fluorescence In-Situ Hybridization (FISH)* Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)* Cytogenetic chromosome analysis* Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)* Pharmacogenomics (PGx)* Chromosomal Microarray (CMA)Results of these tests, which may have significant clinical impact, are obtained through manual and automated processes. This position will operate a range of software and instrumentation requiring manual dexterity, a keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask.*Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards***KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*** Ability to use good and sound judgment, demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and perform well in supervisor’s absence.* Ability to work weekends and holidays, as required and/or on rotation.* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.* Well-developed attention to detail and organization skills.* Proficiency in one or more genetics/genomics laboratory processes and knowledge of laboratory practices.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*** Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, chemical or biological science, or another accredited four-year degree with equivalent coursework meeting CLIA qualifications for high-complexity testing personnel.* One (1) year of experience in a genetics/genomics laboratory.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*** ASCP certification in cytogenetics, molecular biology, or medical technology.* Additional experience as genetics technologist.* Additional related education and/or experience.
