RN – Med Surg/Telemetry (Ortho)

Schedule: Nights, 3x12s, 1900–0730; Every Other Weekend; Every Other Holiday

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year Med-Surg Telemetry ortho experience
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry independently
• BLS certification required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Knowledge of post-op orthopedic and trauma care
• Proficient in IV therapy and PICC/central line care
• Wound care and dressing management experience
• Familiarity with pain management and orthopedic mobilization

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive patient care in a med-surg telemetry unit focused on orthopedics.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data to identify patient abnormalities.
• Administer and manage IV therapy and medications as needed.
• Conduct wound care and management for patients with orthopedic injuries.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective pain management and recovery for post-operative patients.
• Participate in rapid response situations and assist in emergency care as required.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts per contract
• Pre-approved time off: 2 shifts per contract
• Attendance policy in effect; multiple call-offs may lead to termination.
• Onboarding labs to be completed within 72 hours of signing.
• Pre-start education modules required.
