We offer patients convenient access to innovative treatments and advancements that improve the health and overall well-being of our community.ResponsibilitiesThe Respiratory Therapy Student shall be under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.This individual shall be responsible to provide respiratory care and services to patients.Duties and responsibilities are limited to those within the scope of practice of an unlicensed respiratory therapist acting under the direction of a licensed respiratory therapist, to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.This position may have additional duties assigned that are within the scope of the role.Assist with assessments, administer treatments (oxygen, nebulizers), monitor vitals, and learn life support procedures.Set up, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, and manage medical gas cylinders.Support licensed therapists, nurses, and physicians in developing and implementing care plans.Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment and restock supplies.Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirementsAdheres to current Infection Control and Safety StandardsRegular and prompt attendanceAbility to work schedule as defined and overtime as requiredRelated duties as assignedQualificationsMust qualify for student status by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy Required ORbe a recent graduate with a temporary license from the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Care.
