We are looking for a Specialist Aircraft Technician to join our Flight Test Maintenance team. The goal of a Specialist Aircraft Technician at Wisk is to ensure that aircraft are ready for safe, effective, and efficient flight operations, including flight testing. You will be part of the Flight Test and Operations team that safely and efficiently prepare for and support execution of flight testing of general aviation fixed-wing and rotorcraft aircraft as well as the Gen 6 aircraft.

Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Hollister Flight Test facility.

In this role as a Specialist Aircraft Technician, you will play a crucial role on the Wisk Flight Test and Operations team. Your work is the final safeguard, guaranteeing that each aircraft is flightworthy. Through implementing aircraft hardware integrations, thorough inspections, essential and preventative maintenance, and careful documentation, you'll give the entire flight test and operations team the confidence they need to successfully conduct flight operations. Once a test aircraft moves from the hangar to the flight line, you'll transition into the Crew Chief role, performing vital flight duties and contributing to safe and successful test flights.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and troubleshoot the installation of experimental aircraft systems.
• Perform routine aircraft inspections, diagnose, repair and resolve aircraft maintenance issues with appropriate documentation.
• Be responsible for developing and implementing processes to ensure efficient and high-quality work completion to remain compliant with FAA airworthiness regulations.
• Support a wide range of teams, including Flight Operations, core engineering, and marketing, by contributing to their tests and other activities.
• Provide valuable technical feedback and recommend innovative solutions to complex challenges.
• Lead and execute assigned tasks with a high degree of autonomy, requiring minimal supervision.

Requirements:s

The successful candidate typically has 4-6 years of experience and demonstrates hands on experience in the following areas:

• Hold a current valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
• You have hands-on experience with aircraft, preferably in the experimental category and general aviation.
• You are a highly motivated, resourceful, and self-directed professional with a broad technical skill set, adept at independently tackling complex challenges.
• You have a deep knowledge of complex tools, such as specialized applicable tooling for aircraft.
• You have a strong and applied understanding of digital tooling to effectively manage projects, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Track information with the ability and desire to learn new programs Wisk utilizes.

Desired:

• IA Certified Inspection Authorization
• Hands-on maintenance experience on general aviation aircraft including Bell 206 rotorcraft, Cessna and Glasair Sportsman fixed-wing platforms, with demonstrated proficiency in inspections, troubleshooting, and return-to-service activities across both airplane and rotorcraft systems.
• Proven experience serving as a Lead Aircraft Mechanic, responsible for directing daily maintenance activities, assigning work, overseeing task execution, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, and providing technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance technicians in a flight test or operational aviation environment.
• A "self-starter" who can manage their tasks without constant supervision and be proactive in identifying issues and taking the initiative to solve them.
• Be flexible and adaptable: Comfortable with managing a dynamic schedule, challenges, and willing to learn new systems and technologies.
• Familiar with completing detailed work orders, logbook entries, and other regulatory paperwork accurately with a knowledge of FAA regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay range the company expects to pay: $61 - $76 per hour - The starting base rate within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
