Data Engineer

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to build complex data engineering and business intelligence applications using the AWS big data stack. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support data warehouse / data lake infrastructure using AWS big data stack, Python, Redshift, QuickSight, Glue, EMR / Spark / Scala, Athena, etc. Develop and manage ETLs to source data from various commercial, sales, and operational systems and create a unified data model for analytics and reporting. Use business intelligence and visualization software (e.g., QuickSight) to develop dashboards used by senior leadership. Empower internal customers to drive their own analytics and reporting (self-serve reporting) and support ad-hoc reporting when needed. Develop deep understanding of vast data sources and determine how, when, and which data to use to solve particular business problems. Collaborate with Product Managers, Finance, Service Engineering, and Sales teams to support their analytics requirements. Manage multiple requests concurrently, prioritizing when necessary. Partner and collaborate across teams and roles to deliver results. Mentor other engineers, influence positive team culture, and help grow the team. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of data engineering experience. 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes. 3+ years of experience with OLAP technologies. 3+ years of experience with data modeling. 3+ years of experience with SQL. Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions. Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases). Location: Bellevue, WA, USA. Salary Range: $132,100.00 – $178,800.00 annually.
