Lead Engineer — Payments Platform

Role Description
You will lead the Payments team, and Lumion will hold you accountable for one thing above all: that payments work — correctly, reliably, every single time.
- Lead the Payments team.
- Ensure payments function correctly, reliably, and consistently.
- Have a significant influence on the payments product direction.
- Lead a team of senior engineers, setting the course and making key decisions.
- Engage directly with the code and the financial mechanics.
Qualifications
- Fintech experience — required.
- A love of the nitty-gritty of numbers.
- Deep Laravel and PHP expertise.
- A leader, not a babysitter.
- Product instincts and ownership.
- Fluent across the stack.
- A daily AI-native workflow.
- A shipping mindset.
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, including leadership.
Requirements
- Experience with real money-movement or payments systems in production.
- Ability to chase discrepancies until resolved.
- Hands-on experience with a large codebase.
- Strong decision-making and accountability skills.
- Fluency in front-end and back-end technologies.
- Experience with third-party API integration.
- Understanding of financial data and database design.
- Proficiency in agentic tooling for planning and development.
