CDL Truck Driver - Class A

Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking an Experienced CDL Dump Truck (Class A) driver in the Roanoke/Glade Hill, VA area for our Virginia SMA operations. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth. The lowboy driver is responsible for using the lowboy trailer to transport heavy equipment to and from various job sites, and in transporting heavy equipment needing repair to the shop. Job Details: * Wages starting at $18.00/hour, wages may be more based on verifiable experience. * Fulltime/Permanent * Day Shift * Weekend work may be required * Overtime available along with extensive medical and retirement benefits Job Responsibilities: * Be familiar with quarry operations * Provide support on scheduled weekends running lowboys, tankers, and assistance to dump trucks and incident investigations as needed * Loading, unloading, escorting, and transporting heavy equipment to designated locations. * Experience securing Heavy Equipment properly prior to transport Job Qualifications: * Uncompromising focus on safety excellence. * Motivated - self-starter, able to complete tasks without a large amount of direct supervision. * Knowledgeable of DOT regulations and monitoring changes. * Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a plus. * Flexibility to work overtime and weekends. * Team player. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. * The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, bend and twist at waist, crouch, or crawl. * The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. * The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and the ability to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing standard red, green and amber. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. * The employee is occasionally required to work long hours, (normal work hours average 10 to 12 hours per day; conditions may dictate up to 15 hours to complete the project). * Must maintain valid CDL-A license. * Safe driving record. * Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen. * Required Valid CDL Class A driver's license, Tanker Endorsement (Preferred) * Clean Motor Vehicle Record, with safe driving history RGI EEO Statement It is the policy of Rogers Group, Inc. to recruit, hire, and promote individuals based on demonstrated merit and qualifications.
