Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, FHMS Must-Have: Previous charge experience Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 in labor and 1:3 in antepartum Charting experience with Epic Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The nurse will float between units as required. Weekend shifts are mandatory. This role has a patient ratio of 1:2 during labor and 1:3 antepartum. The nurse will manage high-risk labor and delivery patients and handle acute care situations. Experience with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and multiples is essential. The nurse will be responsible for active management of laboring patients, including induction and augmentation. Exposure to maternal emergencies is required. The facility has a volume of 200-300 births per month and is a teaching hospital. The nursing staff will work in a Level II Trauma Center with interdisciplinary support teams. Familiarity with administering blood products and managing IVs is necessary. The nurse will assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections as needed. Knowledge of postpartum care, including assessment and management, is essential. The ideal candidate should have experience in triage and management of obstetric patients.
