Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. - Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
- Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options)
- Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
- Communicates patient's plan of care and significant changes to all members of the interdisciplinary team (using SBAR hands off reporting) and to the patient, family and significant others
- Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
- Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict
Position Summary: The incumbent is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other health care team members. The incumbent, as a member of the health care team appropriately assists team members in providing holistic care to patients and their support systems with an awareness of cost containment and time management.
Job Requirements
Required
- Must have one year of critical care experience within the last five years
- Associate Of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Nurse: CA,
- Basic Life Support - CPR
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Preferred
- Bachelors Of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and One year experience in recovering openheart patients, trauma patients and incaring for patients on IABP, CVVH, upon hire
- Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute, within 24 - months

Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region. It is one of only two Level II trauma centers, the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center north of Sacramento north of Sacramento. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a 266-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and a robust robotic surgery program. In addition, the hospital's network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living.
