Restaurant ServerThe restaurant server will interact with all guests and ensure they have a memorable experience from start to finish when dining at the restaurant. Responsibilities include taking orders, delivering food and beverages, ensuring satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.Primary Principal ResponsibilitiesGreet all customers warmly and with appropriate greetings.Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.Prepare dining tables for service, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparations and side-work tasks.Take guest food and beverage orders accurately.Knowledge of current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations.Handle table assignments, seating customers, food and drink suggestions, and communicating customer needs to the cooks.Ensuring a memorable dining experience.Quickly resolve any issues that may arise.Properly open and pour wine tableside.Accurately record revenue and accept cash, credit card, room charges and direct billing payments.Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.Filling as need for absent team members.Assist with special events if needed.Assist customers with disabilities.Thank guest with genuine appreciation.Answer telephone using appropriate etiquette.Develop and maintain positive working relationship with co-workers and others.Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.Secondary ResponsibilitiesBus tables and assist with processing dirty dishes if necessary.Assist kitchen with prep work or plating if necessary.Clean all front of the house areas including windows, light fixtures and entrance as assigned.Fill water bottles, cut fruit, roll silverware, and complete other service-related tasks as assigned.Performs all other duties as directed by immediate supervisor.Job RequirementsEducation and ExperienceOne year of prior food and beverage experience preferred.Prior guest relations training.Proper food safety training and certification as described by law.Experience working with POS (Toast, Micros, Aloha, etc.) and reservation software (Toast).Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of proper food handling.Strong written/verbal communications skills.Positive upbeat attitude/personality.Punctuality and reliable attendance are required.Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and other team members.Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision.Must be willing to work flexible hours such as mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentRegularly required to stand and walk for a prolonged period of time, transport materials or equipment, and lifting, moving, or carrying heavy objects over 30 lbs.Occasionally lifting, moving, or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.Regularly requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity to grasp, handle, feel, reach, extending arms overhead, etc.Frequently required to bend, stoop, etc.Must be capable of working effectively in both a hot and cold extreme temperature environment.
