Human Resources Generalist, Employee Relations Location: Houston, Texas Schedule: Hybrid. 4 days onsite, 1 day remote. Hours: M-F 8-5 Role Overview We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist specializing in Employee Relations. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, fostering a positive and compliant work environment. The position is primarily responsible for managing employee relations matters, conducting workplace investigations, and providing guidance on company policies and employment practices. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance to employees and leaders. Partner with management to address performance concerns, attendance issues, and workplace conflicts. Consult with leaders on corrective action, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary processes. Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into allegations of policy violations and misconduct. Prepare detailed investigation reports, findings, and recommendations. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies. Coach leaders on employee relations best practices and performance management. Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations case files and track relevant metrics. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field. A minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources experience with a significant focus on employee relations, investigations, or workplace compliance. Experience conducting workplace investigations and preparing findings. Knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Strong conflict resolution, interviewing, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems. Preferred Qualifications Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP). Experience supporting a complex, multi-location workforce. Experience partnering with Legal and Labor Relations functions. Completion of workplace investigation training or certification. Experience in the utility, energy, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
