Director, Operations

This role was built for someone who has already lived it. At ScottCoatings, we're looking for a Director of Operations who understands what it means to run a self‑perform trade from the inside out—someone who understands estimating, project management, and who’s protected real margin with systems that actually hold up in the field. If that's been your world for the better part of a decade, we'd love to talk. This isn’t a coordination role. It's a leadership seat for someone who wants to bring estimating, project management, and field execution together as one operating system. You’ll feel right at home if you’ve: Spent 10+ years in a self‑perform trade—coatings, mechanical, electrical, or similar Treated labor productivity as a primary margin lever, not just a line on a report Enforced operating systems, SOPs, and scorecards Successfully navigated change orders, backcharges, and schedule disputes with GCs Hired and developed strong people, and ran a structured operating cadence (EOS/L10 experience is a real plus) What you’ll lead: The estimate‑to‑execution handoff—and the margin that depends on it A weekly L10 rhythm, a living scorecard, and a culture where issues actually get resolved A field team held to clear, consistent standards—so everyone wins The growth and development of the next generation of field and estimating leaders Scope, schedule, and margin—protected across every project Why ScottCoatings: We're a lean, values‑driven specialty contractor operating across Washington and Oregon.
