Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering,mechanical design, or related technical field
• 2 to 5+ years of experience in tool, mold, orfixture design
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, or othermodeling software
• Strong understanding of GD&T (GeometricDimensioning and Tolerancing), tolerance stack-up analysis, and materialproperties
• Knowledge of machining, heat treating, assembly,and shop-floor manufacturing processes

As a Tool Designer, you'll take rough sketches,layouts, and blueprints and using CAD software, create 3D models and assemblydrawings for tooling and fixtures to support production operations. You will blendcreativity with technical expertise while creating, developing, and optimizingtools and equipment to ensure safety, quality, and ease of use. Your work begins by understanding theintricate needs of the production process and collaborating closely with Manufacturing,Engineering, and Machinists to ensure tools and fixtures support the productionprocess.

What You'll Do:

• Create detailed schematics, blueprints, and 3Dmodels using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
• Choose correct materials based on applicationfor the tooling to ensure safety, high-quality, and cost-effective designs
• Work directly with Manufacturing, Engineering,and Machinists to integrate new tools into existing processes and practices
• Facilitate and lead continuous improvement tasksrelated to tool design changes to reduce scrap and cycle-time while improvingsafety, quality and productivity
