Care is delivered in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards, ensuring excellence in quality, infection control, and patient safety.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide perioperative patient care including pre-admit, scheduling, admission, intra-op circulating, recovery, and dischargeServe as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and departments to coordinate careAccurately document assessments and care in the EMR in a timely mannerEnsure patient safety by identifying concerns and following OBH policies and proceduresAssist with surgical setup, room turnover, case preparation, instrument handling, and decontaminationSupport department operations including supply management and equipment maintenancePerformance ExpectationsDemonstrate teamwork, mentorship, and a commitment to a positive work environmentPromote a culture of patient-centered careFollow HR policies, including timekeeping and safety practicesSupport financial stewardship and responsible use of resourcesRespond appropriately and effectively in emergency situationsParticipate in required training and maintain safety awarenessTake a fair share of rotational call (benefited staff)Perioperative ResponsibilitiesMaintain knowledge of perioperative standards (AORN, ASPAN, SGNA, IAHCSMM)Ensure proper patient identification, informed consent, and procedure verificationSafely administer medications and monitor patients appropriatelyUtilize aseptic technique and proper specimen handlingEducate patients and families on post-operative careFollow infection control and exposure control protocolsNavigate EMR for scheduling, documentation, and communicationAssist with quality reporting, chart reviews, and infection control initiativesQualificationsEducation & Experience:Graduate of an accredited School of NursingCurrent Washington State RN licensePerioperative experience preferredCNOR certification preferredMinimum Requirements:BLS certification upon hire (must maintain)ACLS certification within 6 months of hire (must maintain)Skills & Abilities:Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environmentStrong clinical judgment and prioritization skillsExcellent verbal, written, and computer communication skillsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to wear PPE for prolonged periodsStrong understanding of infection control practicesAbout Our CommunityLocated on the beautiful Long Beach Peninsula in Washington State, Ocean Beach Health offers the perfect blend of meaningful work and coastal living.
