Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with specialized oncology expertise to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced oncology and hematology unit. The nurse will be responsible for managing complex patient needs, administering chemotherapy, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to oncology and hematology patients, including chemotherapy administration and blood product transfusions.
• Monitor patient conditions, interpret EKGs and strips, and assess for adverse reactions or complications.
• Float across Stepdown/Advanced Care units, adapting to varying acuity levels and care requirements.
• Adhere to safety protocols such as proper N95 fitting and PAPR use when indicated.
• Complete required competencies, including online EKG tele and blood sample collection assessments prior to start.
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC electronic health records and communicate effectively with healthcare team members.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license valid in any state; compact license accepted.
• Possess a minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience in an SD/PCU setting, with oncology experience preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC charting and electronic documentation systems.
• Be certified in BLS and ACLS, with the ability to read and interpret strips confidently.
• Complete all pre-employment requirements, including lab work and EKG exams within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Ensure some level 1 or 2 trauma experience is documented in work history.
