Clinic hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00a - 5:00p. No weekends, no holidays and no on-call. Job Summary Responsible for evaluating and monitoring clinic patients as an athletic trainer within an orthopedic patient focus. Participates in the implementation of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician when applicable. Evaluates injuries, physical conditions, and needs; recommends a scientific care plan to include schedule, treatment programs, and related education based on patient capabilities and limitations. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Documents and interprets information gathered from sources including the medical record, physician, and family. Utilizes appropriate testing/evaluation techniques to assess injuries. Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers treatments as ordered which may include casting, splinting, bracing and education on proper fit and use. Observes patients, documents and reports changes in condition, adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and takes necessary action. Counsels patients and family members on prevention and treatment plans as directed. Explains and updates safety rules governing daily training, recreational activities, and the use of professional exercise equipment as needed for patient care. Implements and monitors any patient treatment regimen for rehabilitation and reconditioning according to diagnosis and real-time condition. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of certification knowledge and uses age- and population-specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting. Qualifications Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure. Two Years Of Experience Preferred Must be certified as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification and be licensed and/or registered in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
