Buyer

We are looking for a Buyer to join our team at nVent Management Company. The position is fully onsite and located at our Kewanee, IL facility. What YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION Procure assigned items in accordance with material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship. Maintain and improve the quality of the assigned goods with a focus on continuous improvement, eliminating nonconformities, reducing total delivered costs, and improving customer happiness. Work with vendors to acquire quotes for non-inventory materials. Generate purchase orders for both direct and indirect materials. Participate in the daily MRO activities and operations associated with the upkeep of the plant/facility. Work with Manufacturing to build a consistent methodology for the procurement process of components based on demand and min & max inventory. Follow up on the status of purchase orders and review price increases to renegotiate with strategic supply. Schedule outside vendor services and troubleshoot any discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Work with all departments to maintain parts inventory for production. Generate reports to support business decisions of the company. You have High School diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in industrial buying preferred. Proficiency in MS Office tools and experience with ERP and MRP systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to meet the physical and environmental demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in both office and production environments. Pay Transparency nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range: $20.40 - $37.80 Per Hour Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
