We are a well-established independent automotive repair shop in Melbourne, Florida, known for accurate diagnostics and high-quality repairs . We specialize in European vehicles, particularly Volkswagen, Audi, and BMW , while servicing all makes and models.

Our shop has built a strong local reputation for solving difficult problems that other repair facilities and dealerships have been unable to diagnose or repair correctly. Because of this, a significant portion of our work involves advanced diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, drivability concerns, and complex mechanical repairs.

We are looking for an experienced A-Level or strong B-Level Automotive Technician who can confidently diagnose and repair vehicles independently from start to finish.

This is not an entry-level or lube technician position.

What You'll Be Working On

Our technicians regularly handle:

• Advanced drivability and check-engine-light diagnostics
• Electrical system faults and wiring problems
• Intermittent issues requiring testing and troubleshooting
• Engine timing, cylinder head, and major engine repairs
• Cooling system diagnosis and repair
• Brake and suspension diagnosis and repair
• Vehicles that have been misdiagnosed or improperly repaired elsewhere
• General maintenance and repair on a variety of makes and models

Because of the type of work we perform, you must be comfortable taking a vehicle from the initial customer complaint through diagnosis, repair, verification, and final quality control .

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can:

• Diagnose vehicles independently , rather than relying solely on fault codes or another technician to determine the repair
• Read wiring diagrams and perform electrical testing with a multimeter and other diagnostic equipment
• Interpret scan-tool data and use it to develop a diagnostic direction
• Diagnose drivability concerns and intermittent faults
• Perform major mechanical repairs confidently and correctly
• Follow repair procedures, specifications, and torque requirements
• Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Verify repairs before considering a vehicle complete
• Maintain an organized work area and keep track of removed parts and hardware
• Take responsibility for the quality of their work
• Communicate when additional diagnostic time, information, or assistance is genuinely needed

We understand that even experienced technicians occasionally need a second opinion. We value teamwork. However, this position requires someone who already has the experience and diagnostic foundation to work independently on the majority of vehicles assigned to them.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience in a full-service repair facility or dealership
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair vehicles independently
• Experience with electrical and drivability diagnostics
• Experience performing major mechanical repairs
• Own professional automotive tools
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work in a flat-rate environment

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE certifications
• Dealership experience
• European automotive experience, especially VW, Audi, and BMW
• Automotive technical school education
• Experience with advanced diagnostic equipment and manufacturer-level scan tools

Quality & Productivity

Quality is extremely important to us. We are not interested in rushing vehicles out the door at the expense of workmanship.

At the same time, an experienced technician should be able to work efficiently, manage their time, and consistently complete repairs within a reasonable timeframe.

We are looking for someone who understands that being a great technician means both doing the job correctly and being productive .

Repeated mistakes, preventable comebacks, careless workmanship, or consistently excessive repair times are not compatible with this position.

Our technicians are trusted to diagnose their own vehicles and perform repairs independently.

Unlike many dealerships, our focus is not on unrealistic warranty times or dealership politics. Our priority is accurate diagnosis, quality workmanship, efficiency, and maintaining the reputation we have built with our customers.

For a technician who genuinely enjoys troubleshooting and solving difficult automotive problems, the work can be challenging and rewarding.

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience, diagnostic ability, productivity, and demonstrated skill level .

New technicians will have a 90-day evaluation period during which we will evaluate diagnostic ability, repair quality, efficiency, consistency, and overall workflow.

At the end of the evaluation period, we will review performance and discuss the long-term flat-rate structure and opportunities for growth.

Our goal is simple: technicians who consistently produce high-quality work and demonstrate strong diagnostic ability should be compensated accordingly.
