Biologist

Responsibilities Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: Conduct field investigations and biological surveys throughout Puerto Rico. Identify and document flora and fauna species accurately. Perform threatened and endangered species habitat assessments. Conduct tree inventory and vegetation mapping activities. Perform wetland delineations and jurisdictional determinations. Conduct environmental inspections and compliance evaluations. Collect, analyze, and manage environmental field data. Prepare environmental reports, technical memoranda, and regulatory documentation. Support permitting and environmental compliance efforts. Coordinate with project managers, environmental professionals, and regulatory agencies. Maintain compliance with client safety requirements and company procedures. Travel throughout Puerto Rico as required by project assignments. Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours when necessary to support project needs. Requirements Essential Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Natural Sciences or Environmental Sciences. 5+ years of relevant professional experience conducting environmental field studies, natural resource assessments, and regulatory compliance activities. Full availability to work throughout Puerto Rico. Available for island-wide travel on short notice. Available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency response situations when required. Ability to perform fieldwork independently in remote locations. Must be capable of working outdoors under varying weather conditions and uneven terrain. Strong flora and fauna identification skills are required. First Aid/CPR Certification (preferred) Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
