About The Role First Bank of Montana is hiring a Loan Assistant to be an integral part of our team in our Lewistown, Montana location. This position is part time (approximately 32 hours per week). The role involves providing loan support for loan officers in the branch and requires a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, teamwork, and promotion of the bank's products and services. Professionalism, confidentiality, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will have extensive contact with bank staff as well as with external customers. You will conduct yourself in a manner that enhances the overall efficiency and image of the bank, build and maintain rapport with co‑workers, and complete tasks timely while following all policy and regulatory requirements. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Dodd‑Frank Act, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Complete assigned online training courses and achieve a score of 85% or greater by the due date. Loan Assistant Essential Functions Assist loan officers by pulling credit reports, UCC lien searches, Vehicle Lien Search & floods Perfect loan collateral by filing UCC and CFS documents Follow up on vehicle titles Insurance monitoring and AM Best Ratings Follow up on deeds of trust and title policies Organize loan files to ensure all required documents are in order and complete Prepare reconveyances Prepare correspondence to loan customers requesting financial information, credit authorizations, inspections, and floor plans as directed by loan officers Credit and file documents and reviews Prepare reports as requested Prepare loan documents and set up files accurately and within established timelines Pull paid notes and loan documents and release liens Other Essential Job Functions Perform job functions in compliance with all company policies and procedures, federal and state rules and regulations as applicable, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and GLBA/privacy rules. Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems. Participate in community service and bank-sponsored activities that support the mission and values of First Bank of Montana. Provide superior internal and external customer service: demonstrate self-governance, courtesy, and respect toward external customers and all organization personnel. Represent First Bank of Montana professionally, maintaining a positive “can-do” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, adaptability, and a tidy work area while preserving customer privacy. Regular and predictable attendance is essential to accomplish in-person contact with customers and lenders. Perform additional duties as requested or assigned. About YouQUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent Banking experience preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY
Ability to work quickly and accurately Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions Strong verbal and written communication skills Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems and applications Broad knowledge of banking regulationsWORK ENVIRONMENT
