Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial settings. If you’re passionate about mechanical systems and thrive on solving complex HVAC/R challenges, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, chillers, Geothermal, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and building automation system controls to accurately diagnose issues.
- Utilize hand tools, electrical diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, and specialized equipment to identify faults and perform repairs efficiently.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and mechanical systems repair to ensure systems operate safely and effectively.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders promptly, and communicate clearly with customers regarding system status and recommended solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and electrical codes.
Skills
- Construction experience combined with service technician expertise in HVAC/R systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, pumps, and boilers.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and understanding building automation systems for efficient troubleshooting.
- Experience with HVAC system installation, repair, maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting in commercial environments.
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems related to HVAC/R operations.
- Ability to diagnose issues using electrical diagnostics tools like ohmmeters and perform appliance repairs when necessary.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC design or electrical diagnostics are a plus.
- Familiarity with hand tools, mechanical systems repair techniques, HVAC system maintenance practices, and equipment repair procedures.
- Valid van driver’s license for safe transportation between job sites.
We do 90% commercial so must have at least 8 years experience in commercial work.
