Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant - Onsite Rehabilitation

Position Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team at Well Extremities Rehab and Physical Therapy in Monticello, New York. In this full-time role, you will work closely under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to provide high-quality care to patients navigating their recovery journeys post-injury, surgery, or those managing chronic health conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols for each patient's unique needs.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, using appropriate equipment and techniques to maximize effectiveness and safety.
• Continuously monitor and document patient progress, responses to treatment, and any modifications needed to optimize recovery, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and insurance documentation standards.
• Educate patients regarding proper movement techniques, home exercise regimens, and strategies for injury prevention, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions through diligent monitoring and maintaining an encouraging environment throughout treatment.
• Collaborate with the Physical Therapists, medical doctors, and other healthcare professionals to maintain a coordinated approach to patient care, ensuring that all aspects of health are addressed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as a PTA will involve working with a diverse group of patients, encompassing those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, neurological disorders, and chronic pain management. You will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive atmosphere, where patients feel heard and valued during their rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• A valid New York State PTA License is required for this position.
• Strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation protocols relevant to a hospital setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate within a healthcare team and interact with patients compassionately.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically Web PT, is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred, providing insight into patient care processes and rehabilitation techniques.
• Hands-on experience in a hospital environment or outpatient therapy setting is an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education. In addition to the salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
