Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Shelby, NC. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting, specializing in medical-surgical and telemetry units. The role is designed for experienced nurses capable of managing various patient conditions, including stroke, respiratory illnesses, and renal failure, with a focus on patient-centered care.
Job Details
- Position Description: RN - Medical Surgical/Telemetry. The hospital has 32 beds with an average census of 32 patients daily.
- Required Qualifications: RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, 18 months of Med/Surg/Telemetry RN experience, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Support within the Department: Includes CNA support for ADLs and mobility, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, and 24/7 support from hospitalists, intensivists, and RT.
- Technology/Equipment: Electronic Medical Record system, IV pumps, monitors, and unit-specific equipment such as VNO (virtual nursing).
- Floating: Floating within region to all listed facilities as needed within scope of practice, with travel time paid for mid-shift floats.
- Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation.
- Additional details: The unit has a patient ratio of 1:5-6, surge staffing ratios of 1:7-8, and works in a patient-centered, team-oriented environment. The unit culture is collaborative, and the facility supports work-life balance with free parking and a fun, patient-focused atmosphere.
