In this role, you will design, build, and scale world-class payment experiences used by hundreds of millions of customers globally.\n\nJob Description:\n\nEssential Responsibilities: \n\n * Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff\n * Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures\n * Understands internal standards \u0026 processes an applies them to make technical decisions\n * Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions\n * May contribute to code \u0026 design reviews\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor\u2019s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\n\n\nAdditional Responsibilities \u0026 Preferred Qualifications:\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full stack JavaScript applications and services\n\n * Build performant, accessible, and responsive front-end experiences using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Node.js)\n\n * Architect and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services in Node.js\n\n * Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and deliver features end-to-end\n\n * Lead technical discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers\n\n * Drive engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and observability\n\n * Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and security vulnerabilities\n\n * Contribute to technical roadmap planning and architectural decisions\n\n * Champion engineering excellence across the team through documentation, standards, and processes\n\n\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s or Master\u0027s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)\n\n * 5+ years of professional software engineering experience\n\n * Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript across the full stack\n\n * Hands-on experience with React.js or similar front-end frameworks\n\n * Solid experience with Node.js for backend/server-side development\n\n * Proficiency with RESTful API design and development\n\n * Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)\n\n * Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility (WCAG), and security best practices\n\n * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)\n\n * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and Agile methodologies\n\n * Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Experience building or integrating payment systems, fintech platforms, or high-volume transactional services\n\n * Familiarity with GraphQL\n\n * Experience with microfrontend architecture\n\n * Knowledge of web security standards (OAuth, OpenID Connect, PCI-DSS considerations)\n\n * Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks\n\n * Prior experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives\n\n\n\n\nSubsidiary:\n\nPayPal\n\nTravel Percent:\n\n0\n\n-\n\nThe base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring.
